Dino Melaye has been declared the winner of the Kogi West Senatorial District election in Kogi State.
The returning officer for Kogi West Senatorial district, Emmanuel Bala, made the announcement on Monday saying Mr Melaye scored the highest number of votes from the election.
The results give the PDP candidate, Mr Melaye, a win over Smart Adeyemi of the APC.
Mr Melaye having scored the highest number of votes was declared winner and returned elected with 85,395 votes while Mr Adeyemi got 66,901 votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bamidele Salam, as the winner of Ede Federal Constituency of the House of Representatives seat.
In the keenly contested election, he got 46,944 to defeat the APC candidate who got 44,866.

The Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has emerged senator-elect of Ogun Central Senatorial district in Ogun state with 88,110 votes.
Mr Amosun won with a margin of 51,009 votes as he had a total of 88,110 votes, as against the candidate with the second maximum votes, Titi Oseni of ADC, who had 37,101 votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared President Muhammadu Buhari as winner of Saturday’s presidential election in Nasarawa State.
Azubuike Nwankwo, the Presidential Election Returning Officer for the state, read out the results polled by various political parties at the end of collation at about 11 a.m.
According to him, Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 289, 903 votes to defeat the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),
Atiku Abubakar scored 283,847 votes.


A police corporal identified as Sunday Idoko was shot dead by unknown gunmen while escorting election results from Ipokia to the Ilaro collation centre in Ogun.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) gathered that the incident happened around 8: 00 pm on Sunday in Eredo area of Yewa South Local Government Area of the state.

The gunmen were said to have laid ambush at Eredo and began shooting sporadically at the vehicle conveying the election results and other materials.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has won in 12 of Ebonyi’s 13 local government areas.

Mr Buhari won in one of the local governments in the state while Mr Abubakar won the remaining 12.

The results as announced by various collation officers in Abakaliki shows that Mr Buhari defeated Mr Abubakar in Ikwo Local Government Area.



The All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 497,914 votes to beat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which scored 50,763 votes in Yobe in last Saturday’s presidential election.

Prof. Abubakar Gunduri, the state Collation officer, announced the result after collation from the 17 local government
areas in the state on Monday in Damaturu.

He said that the state had 1,365,913 registered voters, out of which, 601,059 were accredited for the election.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed its appreciation to the people of Kwara State for their support in the presidential and National Assembly elections.

The party made this known in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Lanre Issa-Onilu, on Monday.

“The All Progressives Congress (APC) expresses profound appreciation to the good people of Kwara State for the tremendous and overwhelming support shown to President Muhammadu Buhari and all candidates of the party in the Presidential and National Assembly elections that held last Saturday.”


The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has defeated the All Progressives Congress flag bearer, Muhammadu Buhari, in the Federal Capital Territory after polling a total of 259 997 votes against Buhari’s 152,224.

The total votes cast in the FCT is put at 451, 408.

Meanwhile, Buhari defeated Atiku in Ekiti and Osun States, the first two states officially announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday.
